What’s your Wordle technique? Do you have a go-to start word? Or do you like to switch it up daily?

Since the game launched last October, there’s been plenty of speculation about the ideal word to use when starting a game. Well, the New York Times has now revealed the “optimal” opening word for the daily word puzzle!

It has found “Crane” to be the best place to start! “Crate”, “Slate”, “Slant” and “Trace” are also solid guesses, as are “Lance”, “Carte”, “Least” and “Trice”. (What the heck is “trice”?!)

Happy Wordle-ing!
